Our Philosophy
Atelier Artist in Residence was founded on a simple belief:
Great work rarely happens between appointments.
Artists need uninterrupted time.
They need beautiful environments.
They need meaningful conversations.
They need permission to disappear from everyday obligations and devote themselves completely to their practice.
Every element of an Atelier residency—from the architecture to the meals to the size of each cohort—is intentionally designed around that belief.
Our 2026 & 2027 programs are set at the amazing Chateau de Cerisay, France & The idealic Westcove Estate in Ireland.
Our 2026 & 2027 programs are set at Chateau de Cerisay, a beautiful, sprawling French estate just north of Le Mans, France AND the Westcove Estate in county Kerry Ireland. Both locations are ideal for a focused creative process but close enough to nearby cities & amazingly scenic villages for the many exciting, planned excursions.
